As everyone knows blogs are everywhere. If an individual would type the word blog into any search site you would millions of results. As the popularity of the blogs has increased, many of us have deemed them as unreliable sources for information. This is as a lot of blogs are made by ordinary each day folk. But in the same aspect businesses will also make a blog to get more traffic and make money online.

So how do we go about fixing the unreliable factor? Well to do this all bloggers should go by a natural set of blogging rules. These are rules that aren’t in any way immovably set or anything apart from they’re basic guidelines that anybody should follow. Almost all of your rules should follow the code of ethics guidelines as code of ethics are an important set of ethics to follow. In applying the rules to your blog there are 5 basic rules you must apply to your own site.

1. Facts - Ensure you check your facts before posting anything on your blog. Do a little analysis on your topic and confirm the information that you have is true. Doing basic research can protect you from posting false info. When you post false information you’ll look bad and you will lose visitors to your set. Even after you have posted your blog check and ensure everything is right. The more you test your facts the better off you’ll be.

2. Copyright Laws – Don’t by any means walk into a site and simply copy and paste their info into your website. This is against copyright laws and can get you into some serious legal issues. Everything that’s contained on the Internet is copyrighted, which a lot of people don’t realize. You are better off creating your own information and avoid any illegal misuse of copyright regulations.

3. Implications – Think about the implications about what you are posting. Once you push the post button there’ll be no way to modify your words. If your post may result in consequences against someone later don’t post it. Choose all your words fastidiously in order not to harm anybody’s feelings.

4. Comments – Monitor all of the comments that are placed on your blog page. Put restrictions on the kind of comments your readers are allowed to leave. This way they will not leave a comment that might offend someone or some place and cause oppressive feelings because it will be you, not them, who will lose the visitors.

5. Credit – You must be bound to provide credit to any resources you use. If you fail to do this step you will fall into the rule number 2 of copyright statutes and you’ll be deemed unethical.

These are just 5 common and basic rules that are out there but there are several more . Do some research and discover which rules might apply to your site.

The idea of blogging for dollars has become increasingly popular among people who own and operate blogs. What used to be an innocent hobby has become a profitable activity, so much so that some bloggers have began working full-time on their blogs.

Blogging for dollars is relatively easy, requiring no special skills and talent aside from a passion and commitment for a certain topic or subject. You don’t need a school degree to begin blogging for dollars. Anyone with an expertise on a specific subject can create their own blog and start blogging for profit.

Be Knowledgeable About What to Blog About

Before you start blogging, it’s important to know what to blog about. It might be a subject that you are acquainted with very well and in which you have the enthusiasm and commitment to write about it. It would be a bad idea to blog about something that you have no interest or knowledge in just because it is very popular. If you don’t know how to cook a complete meal, it makes no sense to start a blog about Italian cuisine.

Find an interest, hobby or activity that you love to do, then blog about it. It doesn’t matter how popular or how obscure the topic is, as long as you have the passion and interest to write about the subject.

Build a Blog and They Will Come

It’s very simple to create a blog in this day and age, thanks to blog publishing platforms like Blogger. There are essentially two major types of blogs – the remotely hosted blogs such as those available using Blogger and LiveJournal, and the self-installed weblogs using software similar to Wordpress and MovableType.

Which type of blog should you choose? Each type of blog has its own advantages and disadvantages, so choosing your blog depends on your own preferences. If you want a personal blog and you want blogging to be as easy as possible, then have your blog hosted remotely. But if you want a more professional-looking blog with a lot of features, create your blog using a software like Wordpress, hosted on your own web server. It is quite interesting to learn how to set up a blog.

Monetizing Your Blog

When you see that your blog already has a loyal readership, you can start placing ads, affiliate links and other income streams on your blog. The most popular sources of income for bloggers are:

  • Advertising programs (Google Adsense, Chitika, Adbrite, etc.)
  • Pay-per-post programs (PayPerPost, ReviewMe, Blogitive, etc.)
  • Affiliate programs (Amazon, CommissionJunction, Linkshare, etc.)
  • Donations and tip jars
  • Selling ad space and sponsorships

There are so many ways you can make money from blogging, and so many websites and companies offering cash to bloggers, that it would be wise to select only a few that provides maximum income generation. Build a blog, add good content, and you will soon be blogging for dollars.
